Right-brained or Left-brained?

The results show your brain dominance as being:
Left Brain
Right Brain
61%
39%

You are more left-brained than right-brained. Your left brain controls the right side of your body. In addition to being known as left-brained, you are also known as a critical thinker who uses logic and sense to collect information. You are able to retain this information through the use of numbers, words, and symbols. You usually only see parts of the "whole" picture, but this is what guides you step-by-step in a logical manner to your conclusion. Concise words, numerical and written formulas and technological systems are often forms of expression for you. Some occupations usually held by a left-brained person include a lab scientist, banker, judge, lawyer, mathematician, librarian, and skating judge.

The Results Are In! You can use these results to help you identify the best ways for you to study effectively. Be sure to find more ways to evaluate your own personality and study skills. It will pay off!
You are a left brain dominant student!
You probably like some order in your life and in the classroom. You are comfortable listening to lectures and taking most test types, but you might be uncomfortable with open-ended essay assignments that require you to imagine scenarios. You want class directions to be clear. A disorganized teacher or unclear assignments will drive you crazy! You are good at analyzing problems to find the right answer. You may have considered pursuing a degree in science or math. You don't like mushy love movies. You might be a Jeopardy champ one day, not because you're smarter than right brain students, but because you are able to answer questions quickly.
===========================================================

Which Side Are You On?
You responded as a right brained person to 4 questions, and you responded as a left brained person to 15 questions. According to the Hemispheric Dominance test, you use the left side or your brain the most. Some of the traits associated with the left side of the brain are listed in the table. Not all of the traits will apply to you. Remember, we use both sides of our brain, but your left side gets the most exercise.

I became very much interested on how the left and right brain works, after I saw this video in youtube. Check it out. :) So I ended up taking left or right brain quizzes, so those are the results.

Left Brain
  • Linear Processing
  • Sequential Processing
  • Symbolic Processing
  • Logical
  • Verbal Processing
  • Reality-based Processing
Right Brain
  • Holistic Processing
  • Random Processing
  • Concrete Processing
  • Intuitive
  • Non-verbal Processing
  • Fantasy-Oriented Processing
The left brain processes information, piece by piece, in an organized manner. It takes the information part by part and in the end, sees the whole picture. That is linear processing. However, the right brain has a holistic processing. It needs to see the whole picture, the gist of the lesson before it looks into the details. It has a hard time following in the lessons, as lessons are usually presented in a linear way. In order for the right brain person to adjust, she might as well ask what the next lesson will be in order for her to study in advance.

A left-brained person is an organized person. Therefore, she usually makes to-do lists and schedules and sticks to it. A right-brained, though, would probably go crazy if she is asked to follow a week-long schedule. She usually jumps from one task to another, ending up not finishing the responsibility or not doing it at all since she was juggling several things at a time. The disadvantage, in my perspective, for a left-brained person is that she might find it hard to adjust the schedule if something went wrong with one thing in the list.

The left brain doesn't have problem with mathematical symbols, letters and the like. She can solve the math equation, as long as she knows the formula, and can explain to you how she got the correct answer. Left-brained persons might only need to memorize the math formulas and vocabulary. The right brain, on the other hand, wants concrete examples. She wants to know, see, feel, touch and taste (if possible) how it works, the whole process. The right brain opens up a great opportunity for a hands-on activity. A left-brained person gives less work for the teacher though.

As said before, the left brain processes information part by part and draws a conclusion. That logical conclusion is supported by the proofs gathered by the organized information. The right brain is most likely the opposite. It gets the conclusion first before it could find proof. They might know the answer but not how they got it. If given a quiz, the right brain goes with instinct while the left brain goes with knowledge. To put it into simple words, the right brain bases answers on feelings while the left brain bases answers on facts.

The left brain would give you detailed directions, making it unnecessary for a map. The right brain would give you more of pointing rather than directions so it is advisable to ask for a map from a right brain dominated person. Right-brained need a visual view of the subject before they could understand clearly. They might want to imagine it if visual material is not available. The left brain can take and absorb information quickly even just by hearing it.

Left-brained persons look at the world, accepts it and adjusts to it. They follow rules and make some to follow if there aren't any. They see the situation and can look at the consequences later on. The right brain however, does not instantly adjust to the world around it but rather tries to change it! They might want to ask for reality checks every now and then. Right-brained people are creative, though.

After analyzing all those overwhelming facts, you might be able to identify which part of your brain is dominant without taking any tests. We should also take note that not all the exercise goes to the dominant part of our brain. Some characteristics may not be found in you, even though you are left or right brain. Both still work and cooperate with each other.

A while ago, I was at the mall with my family, strolling around. I then remembered this post and observed different people. I identified some as right or left brained. Then I started identifying if my parents and siblings were right or left brained. Thinking of all this brain stuff made my brain hurt, so I stopped later on.

My super-secret-which-wouldn't-be-secret-anymore corner: At first, I thought that left brained persons were more intelligent but after analyzing all these stuff out, I came to the conclusion that both type of persons can be intelligent as long as they enhance their capacities and put their abilities to good use. Peace out right-brained people.

I am a left-brained person. Which side of your brain is dominant?
