Right-brained or Left-brained?

===========================================================
The results show your brain dominance as being:
Left Brain
Right Brain
61%
39%

You are more left-brained than right-brained. Your left brain controls the right side of your body. In addition to being known as left-brained, you are also known as a critical thinker who uses logic and sense to collect information. You are able to retain this information through the use of numbers, words, and symbols. You usually only see parts of the "whole" picture, but this is what guides you step-by-step in a logical manner to your conclusion. Concise words, numerical and written formulas and technological systems are often forms of expression for you. Some occupations usually held by a left-brained person include a lab scientist, banker, judge, lawyer, mathematician, librarian, and skating judge.

The Results Are In! You can use these results to help you identify the best ways for you to study effectively. Be sure to find more ways to evaluate your own personality and study skills. It will pay off!
You are a left brain dominant student!
You probably like some order in your life and in the classroom. You are comfortable listening to lectures and taking most test types, but you might be uncomfortable with open-ended essay assignments that require you to imagine scenarios. You want class directions to be clear. A disorganized teacher or unclear assignments will drive you crazy! You are good at analyzing problems to find the right answer. You may have considered pursuing a degree in science or math. You don't like mushy love movies. You might be a Jeopardy champ one day, not because you're smarter than right brain students, but because you are able to answer questions quickly.
===========================================================

Which Side Are You On?
You responded as a right brained person to 4 questions, and you responded as a left brained person to 15 questions. According to the Hemispheric Dominance test, you use the left side or your brain the most. Some of the traits associated with the left side of the brain are listed in the table. Not all of the traits will apply to you. Remember, we use both sides of our brain, but your left side gets the most exercise.

===========================================================

I became very much interested on how the left and right brain works, after I saw this video in youtube. Check it out. :) So I ended up taking left or right brain quizzes, so those are the results.

Left Brain
  • Linear Processing
  • Sequential Processing
  • Symbolic Processing
  • Logical
  • Verbal Processing
  • Reality-based Processing
Right Brain
  • Holistic Processing
  • Random Processing
  • Concrete Processing
  • Intuitive
  • Non-verbal Processing
  • Fantasy-Oriented Processing
The left brain processes information, piece by piece, in an organized manner. It takes the information part by part and in the end, sees the whole picture. That is linear processing. However, the right brain has a holistic processing. It needs to see the whole picture, the gist of the lesson before it looks into the details. It has a hard time following in the lessons, as lessons are usually presented in a linear way. In order for the right brain person to adjust, she might as well ask what the next lesson will be in order for her to study in advance.

A left-brained person is an organized person. Therefore, she usually makes to-do lists and schedules and sticks to it. A right-brained, though, would probably go crazy if she is asked to follow a week-long schedule. She usually jumps from one task to another, ending up not finishing the responsibility or not doing it at all since she was juggling several things at a time. The disadvantage, in my perspective, for a left-brained person is that she might find it hard to adjust the schedule if something went wrong with one thing in the list.

The left brain doesn't have problem with mathematical symbols, letters and the like. She can solve the math equation, as long as she knows the formula, and can explain to you how she got the correct answer. Left-brained persons might only need to memorize the math formulas and vocabulary. The right brain, on the other hand, wants concrete examples. She wants to know, see, feel, touch and taste (if possible) how it works, the whole process. The right brain opens up a great opportunity for a hands-on activity. A left-brained person gives less work for the teacher though.

As said before, the left brain processes information part by part and draws a conclusion. That logical conclusion is supported by the proofs gathered by the organized information. The right brain is most likely the opposite. It gets the conclusion first before it could find proof. They might know the answer but not how they got it. If given a quiz, the right brain goes with instinct while the left brain goes with knowledge. To put it into simple words, the right brain bases answers on feelings while the left brain bases answers on facts.

The left brain would give you detailed directions, making it unnecessary for a map. The right brain would give you more of pointing rather than directions so it is advisable to ask for a map from a right brain dominated person. Right-brained need a visual view of the subject before they could understand clearly. They might want to imagine it if visual material is not available. The left brain can take and absorb information quickly even just by hearing it.

Left-brained persons look at the world, accepts it and adjusts to it. They follow rules and make some to follow if there aren't any. They see the situation and can look at the consequences later on. The right brain however, does not instantly adjust to the world around it but rather tries to change it! They might want to ask for reality checks every now and then. Right-brained people are creative, though.

After analyzing all those overwhelming facts, you might be able to identify which part of your brain is dominant without taking any tests. We should also take note that not all the exercise goes to the dominant part of our brain. Some characteristics may not be found in you, even though you are left or right brain. Both still work and cooperate with each other.

A while ago, I was at the mall with my family, strolling around. I then remembered this post and observed different people. I identified some as right or left brained. Then I started identifying if my parents and siblings were right or left brained. Thinking of all this brain stuff made my brain hurt, so I stopped later on.

My super-secret-which-wouldn't-be-secret-anymore corner: At first, I thought that left brained persons were more intelligent but after analyzing all these stuff out, I came to the conclusion that both type of persons can be intelligent as long as they enhance their capacities and put their abilities to good use. Peace out right-brained people.

I am a left-brained person. Which side of your brain is dominant?

Yesterday

Saturday, July 17, 2010

No, this isn't an inspirational post about the past. It's literally about yesterday, July 17, 2010.

Yesterday, as always, was training day. We went there at 9pm, the time it was supposed to start. It was shitty since no coach came. Srsly. So, what we did, we played doubles from 9 to 12pm. It was fun, even just a bit. At around 12:30pm, food came, followed by the Katutubo. They said it is disrepectful to call them Aetas, Negritoes and the like. I have no idea why but might as well respect them. My buddy was Sharon who was the 4th of 5. She was born on the 26th of April and she's 16 years old. Although she's 16, she's only in 6th grade. Her dad is named Julio, also known as boy, who was a chairman at their place and her mom was Ley. That was what I knew about her. All of us had buddies and had time to talk with them. We played badminton, and games (sack race and the cardboard thingy...) Overall, it was fun and tiring. Very sorry if this post is dry. It's raining here so I'm kinda lazy...

My super-secret-which-won't-be-secret-anymore: I brought my dog.

A winner never stops, no matter how slow he goes.
--yours truly

That's all for today. Soooooo tired........
(As you can see, it's probably 1/25 of what I usually post. That is how tired I am. I'll probably tell the story tomorrow.)

Cameras

Friday, July 16, 2010

camera is a device that records images. These images may be still photographs or moving images such as videos or movies. The term camera comes from the camera obscura (Latin for "dark chamber"), an early mechanism for projecting images. The modern camera evolved from the camera obscura.
Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camera

There are a lot of different types of cameras. There's the camera phone, digital camera, digital single lens reflex camera, twin lens reflex camera, movie camera, video camera, toy camera (which in fact, are misleading since they can still take photographs) But the purpose of this post is not to elaborate each one but to just share some ideas I have, some things I saw and other things related to the camera.

The camera, a long time ago, was most likely used to take formal pictures. I have never seen an old photograph using the old camera whose subject used a peace sign pose. The photographs usually were school pictures, family pictures, portraits and the like. But now, you could see almost everything in the pictures and they do not only come in hard copy, but also in soft copy. Picturing one's self is also possible with the handy cameras invented now.

A few hours ago, though, I became very much interested in old cameras, and I decided collecting them. I immediately searched for the oldest camera we have after looking through a lot of old cameras in deviant art. The camera was probably thirteen years old (same age as mine) but I couldn't call it old since I saw cameras that were 60 years old and if I called it old, I would be old too. Not cool.

Anyways, cameras produce photographs. Photographs bring back memories, but have you ever thought the camera itself bring back more memories? Think about it; you brought it to places, took pictures with it but some pictures were lost therefore, the only memory of the place, event and experience lies, not only in your brain, but also in the camera. I like old cameras even more because when you look through it, it makes you have flashbacks, maybe not only of your own, but also flashbacks of other people who used the camera. It is kinda creepy, but still awesome.

As I said before, I looked through a hell lot of pictures of old cameras, here are some. They aren't my favorites but they are the latest ones I've seen.
If there are cameras, there are bound to be camera accessories. I am now practically obsessed with them right now. I WANT ONE! It's my birthday on the 22nd this month so... you know, if you wanna make me happy... :>

My super-secret-which-wouldn't-be-secret-anymore-corner: I was asking my classmates and other people if I can have their old, non-working cameras. O.o Maybe rude, but meh. They're probably not using them anymore, so I might as well have them rather than they throw it away. BUT I STILL LOVE THE RETRO CAMERA NECKLACES. I wonder where can I buy one here... I don't wanna try ordering online. My parents would kill me. Unless I ask their permission. Meh. But ordering online is my second option. :D

Move out of the way kids. I've been waiting for Toy Story 3 for ELEVEN years.

Toy Story 1 November 22, 1995

Toy Story 2 November 19, 1999

Toy Story 3 June 18, 2010

As you can see, it took more than 3 years for the second sequel to be released and 11 years for the third one. I was born on 1996, a year after the first Toy Story, but I still remember watching it every single day, alongside Mulan. They say that any memories you thought you have before the age of 4 are just images your brain portrays, maybe due to the stories your parents or guardians told you, but I really do know that I watched it every single day for maybe a year or two. Every time I watch it, Toy Story brings back childhood memories. It makes me want to become a kid again, when the hardest decision was picking a crayon.

I was 3 years old when Toy Story 2 was released, still under 4, but I do remember watching it. Disney airs both movies from time to time, and I never fail to not watch them. As soon as I read the news that there will be a Toy Story 3, I probably froze. When I saw the trailer, I was literally jumping up and down, telling, or more like shouting, to my parents that we should watch it the first day it shows in our country. And while I was doing that for the whole length of the trailer, my little siblings (I'm the eldest) were like, 'What the in freaking hell is wrong with her? Isn't she a teenager and we are supposed to be the ones doing that?' (They didn't really particularly say it, but it was written all over their face.) So here it comes, the showing day of Toy Story 3. I pleaded, begged, knelt down before my parents to watch Toy Story 3, but my dad said it wasn't a good movie. And I was (secretly) like, 'Have you even watched it?! Or the trailer even?!' (But if I said that, I would probably be dead by now, so I just kept quiet) It took me a week before I could watch it, but the long wait did pay off. We watched it in 3D. :D

So, the movie was starting and I was practically suppressing myself from screaming so I ended up silently squealing. It was so exciting, I can't even stay still on my seat. And here comes the movie..... (There are some, or  maybe a lot of spoilers coming up so if you haven't watched the movie yet and don't want any of these, you might want to skip this paragraph.) I seriously LAUGHED OUT LOUD when buster came in. He's so old and fat there. Good thing he's still alive. Other parts that made me laugh so hard was Buzz' 'Spanish Mode'. So... hysterical. But there were two parts that really made me want to cry, but my family beside me prevents me from doing so. They I have no idea I'm so emotional (but no, I don't cut myself, as I said before). The first one was the part that they were almost to be burned, along with other scraps, and they could do nothing about it. Nothing. There was no chance of them getting back up, for the burning of the scraps was so fast, they kept going down. Since they have nothing to do, Buzz started holding Jessie's hand, and there was a chain of holding hands. It was such a touching move that everyone did. Lesson learned: If there is really nothing, nothing you could do about it, might as well fall and face tragic destiny with your friends, holding on, never letting go. The second part of the movie which made me teary was the ending, when Andy was passing on his toys to Bonnie Anderson. Andy described each toy he had, what roles they played. And while he was passing each one on, you could feel the emotions he had, the memories and flashbacks he remembered and the experiences he went through with these toys. He even played with them for the last time with Bonnie before he went to college. Lesson learned: Time would never stop. There are some things you have to let go, but what you should never let go is the memories you had with these treasures.

My super-secret-which-wouldn't-be-secret-anymore-corner: I bought toys, yes, toys, after the movie. There was a store selling outside the cinema, and I was really tempted to buy one or two. I had to plead (again) to let my parents buy me, not one, but two toys. You guessed it, Woody and Buzz. Woody had suction cups on his hands and feet while Buzz was a walking toy. It was embarrassing but I still didn't regret buying them. And another super duper secret: I am attracted, like, really attracted, to Andy. I feel like he's a childhood friend of mine that became hotter when he's a teenager. :">

Once in a while, it never hurts to become a child again. :)

Music ties with Mood

Tuesday, July 13, 2010

Well, the first post was an epic fail.

I wasn't able to shamelessly post the days after that because of school. I'm getting sick of it. Very. A lot of times come wherein I just wish I could take a break for a day but I always find myself waking up at 5am in the morning next day to go to a school which I am lucky to be in. Don't get me wrong, I love my school. It's just sometimes, there is too much for me to take. In able to still be alive and breathing on instances like that, what do I do? I listen to music of course. :D

Music is a friend, a companion. With whatever you are feeling, it can always, and I mean always, relate. When you're upset and lonely; music comforts you. When you're jubilant and feeling alive; music celebrates with you. When you're having a boring day; music gives you a mood. Music can also give you experiences you might never go through, stories you have never heard, mistakes you have to learn from, metaphors that make you think, and a wider perspective of the world.

Particular music gives me a particular mood and I have no freakin' idea how that works. A great example (on my part) is the album of Owl City, 'Ocean Eyes'. It gives me a very happy and overwhelming feeling and, again, I have no effin' idea why. There must be something to its beat or melody. Another somewhat similar feeling I have is when I listen to NeverShoutNever. I feel cute but I don't feel I'm cute. Hell NO! I find Christofer Drew and his music very cute. Cook and Archuleta's songs make me have flashbacks. Their concert was the first one I attended. (I meant, concert with two foreign singers in it) Yiruma's awesome piano pieces give me a feeling of peace. They are simply lovely. Lady Gaga's songs make me feel... dance-y and fun. I'm not really fond of the messages of her songs (considering my young age of 13) but everything else about it is explicitly wonderful. Adam Lambert's songs, covers and everything he sings makes me dreamy. Why? I am a Glambert, and proud of it. I don't give a damn if he's gay, at least he still sings good music. And I read the news that he will be performing here on October 10, which is a Sunday but hopefully, I would be allowed to hear his angelic voice and see his epic performance. I have heard he has a boosting level of stage presence. Maybe I should write a whole post about him. Anyway, those are some specific music that never fail to change my mood, no matter the time.

My super-secret-which-wouldn't-be-secret-anymore-corner: It's cliche, but I cry myself to sleep while sad music is playing. Yeah, I'm emotional like that. :P But I never tried to cut myself. I'm too scared. O.o And it's against the 5th commandment of God. :) I also feel comforted when listening to music whenever I have a problem and choose to not tell anyone about it. Yes, being lonely was my choice but I have personal reasons but don't get me wrong, my friends are the best. :)(I might put this corner in every post that I have. Just maybe.)

With all the things music has done for me, I could call it a paradigm of the bestest friend.

Thanks Music! :)

Blogging

Thursday, June 24, 2010

At exactly 11:09pm, I have started my second blog that will hopefully always be updated. The first one is now dead. I started blogging again since our English II teacher had high hopes for all of us and that is mostly about being future writers. She has ambitions for her students like being able to publish a book and the like. One of them was to have our own blogs and I thought, I should might as well start ahead of time if I want to really have a good grade in English II.

I have read tips and guidelines to blogging and I found the hobby, if I may call it, intriguing. Ever since, I wanted to start one but the only problem is I had a hard time deciding which topic to choose. I researched about great topics and I mostly saw 'Go with what your passion is.' I have many different passions namely badminton, studies, books and philosophies. With the opinion of others, I ended up with two: badminton and philosophy. I couldn't choose only one of those and I know that I wouldn't be able to manage two blogs already, me being only an amateur and all. So here I am, starting my blog about random things I think within the day. Hopefully, at the end of each day, after school, badminton and homeworks, I would have spare time before going to sleep to write in this blog. Another thing our teacher inspired me to do: set a 3o-minute period before you sleep to develop your talent.

As I have mentioned quite a few times before, our English teacher mostly inspired me to do a blog. I'm not exactly sure yet if what I'm doing is blogging already, but more or less, it is, right? At first, I was very inspired by the ambitions she had for us then at some time, I got tired of them. Until now, I was suddenly awaken by the possibilities in the world. Who knows, we might be able to reach those dreams. In a way, she inspires an amateur writer like me. I have attempted to write books and stories but none of them I eventually finished. I go back and update them from time to time but not regularly. I don't plan on taking Journalism when I reach college, but it could be a sideline of mine.

So... This is all for now, hopefully I would get a follower or two within the week. That would make me very happy in the simplest way. The wonders of the blogsphere awaits me. It is now 11:22pm, Panjee now signing off.
